About TGC The Gymnastics Center

TGC The Gymnastics Center is located in Cincinnati, Ohio, with a rating of 4.5 stars based on 60 Google reviews. Despite some negative feedback about cleanliness and communication issues, one positive aspect highlighted by users is the supportive environment created by Michelle’s daughter in standing up against bullying. The facility may have some challenges to address, but it seems to foster a sense of camaraderie and protection among the gymnasts.

So, TGC in general has very poor communication about pretty much everything. Closings, meets, etc. They also have lost/misplaced/miscalculated competition fees and tuition MULTIPLE times and always blame it on staff change. Who knows how much extra money we´ve given this place..
The place is filthy. I´ve never seen anyone clean anything besides occasionally vacuum. The bathrooms are ALWAYS gross. Leaky/broken faucets, dirty floors, old/poor working toilets that always flush slow and are always full off waste. (Both kinds.) The carvings in the pics are just to show the ones in the handicapped stall. The facility always smells like feet. I know that it´s a big place and it´s owned and operated by only a few people, but it´s a matter of cleanliness. I know with a place that large, it must be hard to keep everything clean all the times, but my kids have gotten sick from there so many times that I don´t bring my son here anymore and I sanitize the table I sit at every time I´m there. That brings me to my next complaint, which is that Michelle has had the audacity to send out at least one email about not bringing your kids in if they are sick and then her own child (who is on the same team as my daughter) not only come in, but go and hang out on the floor with the team and about a week and a half ago she had flu-like symptoms for about a week and Michelle let her come in and try to practice both practice days WITH A FEVER. I stay and watch my daughter and even from where I sit, I could tell her kid looked like crap. You could tell she felt terrible. Not to mention all the other times Michelle has brought her in while she´s been hacking (and not covering) all over the place.
They allow bullying. Yes, you read that right.
My daughter has been on team for 2 years now and one of the girls on her team bullied her a lot through the first year, (one time at a meet even telling her she wished she wasn´t there) and then during summer camp of the next year, Michelle´s daughter actually stood up for my daughter when a couple of the other girls were bullying her (the original girl got the others to gang up on her, and they gang up on my daughter and leave her out all the time.) and the one actually said “well, she´s not our friend, so we don´t care.” This is just two of the times. Not to mention that the original girl has tripped her when running out of class and kicked her in the ribs when she ran past her on beam.. this is just a drop in the bucket, guys. I´ve brought these issues to the coaches and they did nothing. When my daughter advanced, the bullying continued into the next level and I told the coaches about it and they said that if anything ever happens, to bring it to them “and it will be handled.” Well, I brought it to them time and time again and nothing was ever done, so I brought it to Michelle. She said we would have a sit-down with the other girls parents and then 2 weeks went by with nothing. The original girl is always very disrespectful to the coaches and the one day she made a face at them and waved her hand like she was brushing off what they told her and rolled her eyes. All I said was “that was disrespectful..” and she cried until her “step dad” came over (who is never there to see her shenanigans. No one else´s parents come. If they do, they don´t look up from their phones long enough to pay attention to their mean kids.) and he proceeds to get in my face, raise his voice to me and my 65 year old mother and cuss at us and tell us not to “yell” at his kid. ???
The one coach sees this and comes over and we tell her what happened. She says nothing. Michelle comes over, we tell her what happened, and she does nothing. Nothing has been done still about anything the girls do to my daughter. They leave her out, make fun of her, and talk down to her. The coaches are too busy talking to each other (or giving pointers to girls on teams they´re not coaching) to notice any of this.

PLEASE READ PART 2.

FULL REVIEW PART 2

Needless to say, this has gotten so out of hand that my daughter has stomach issues and has gotten so nervous and down about coming into practice, that she doesn´t even want to do this anymore. And I don´t blame her. I cannot believe Michelle runs her gym like this and then has the audacity to send out emails to us telling us how we should worry about how we represent her gym. Talk about hypocrisy. I feel like I can´t really do anything about this place other than quit and there´s no other gym close by that´s good.. I wish there was. Because Michelle does not care about her gymnasts or the parents. She can afford to go on multiple vacations a year, replace the driveway, and have a physical therapist there some days, but she can´t hire a cleaning crew or coaches who will keep the kids in line. Disgusting and money hungry. That´s all there is to it.
